My social media content is created to support mental health awareness, wellness, healing, and psychoeducation. Through this space, I share information, personal reflections, perspectives, and resources related to mental health, OCD, trauma, colonial trauma, and approaches to healing well-being.
The intention of this page is to provide accessible education, reduce shame, support reflection, and create more open conversations about mental health and healing and community. My content is informed by my professional training, therapeutic experience, lived experience, trauma-informed care, and ongoing commitment to ongoing education and training.
While I hope this space feels supportive and informative, social media is not therapy and is not a substitute for individualized mental health care, diagnosis, assessment, crisis support, or treatment. Information shared on this page is general in nature and may not apply to every person’s situation. Engaging with my content, following this page, commenting, messaging, or sharing information does not create a therapist-client relationship.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, or feel unsafe, please contact emergency services, a local crisis line, or attend your nearest emergency department.
If you are interested in becoming a client or would like to inquire about therapeutic or coaching support, please contact: shawna@phdshawnabiron.ca
